Lumberg Partnerships
This school year Lumberg was awarded multiple grants: Safe Routes to School, the 21st Century Community Learning Centers and Tools of the Mind for Kindergarten. We also sought out partnerships with other educational organization to support the health and wellness of our students such as PlayWorks. We are excited that we were awarded these grants and that we built these partnerships to ensure a safe and caring school environment for our Lumberg students. Here is more information:

|
Safe Routes to School Grant
- The grant brings in a comprehensive bicycle/pedestrian safety education program to all students in PE classes.
- The grant also provides a 2-part student/parent workshop from Kidpower. Children will learn how to recognize and avoid potential safety problems from people, traffic or other situations.
- Lumberg is one of just 5 Jeffco Schools to receive a Safe Routes to School grant for the 2015-16 school year
- We continue to make the area around Lumberg safer for everyone: fewer cars and more people walking/biking.

21st Century Community Learning Centers (Lumberg, Stevens and Jefferson Junior/Senior High)
- Lumberg will offer academic and extra-curricular before/after school learning opportunities to students.
- The grant provides funding for these enrichment activities and academic supports to help improve student learning, daily attendance, and active engagement in their school work.
- Family engagement opportunities will be provided such as Families First Parenting classes, ESL classes, and Parent Action Committees.
- Overall goal of the grant is to increase student success, engagement and achievement and provide connections as students move from elementary to secondary grades.
