Curriculum at Lumberg Elementary
As Jeffco has worked to implement a variety of spiraling curriculums throughout our schools, a study of cognitive science, or the science of learning, has not only dispelled many myths about how we learn, but also elevated a few keystone instructional strategies that can strengthen our instructional core as well as support schools in effective literacy unit and lesson planning. It is through these practices that we can support students gaining automaticity in their foundational skills and becoming increasingly strategic in their comprehension skills as they develop into skilled readers, writers and mathematicians.
Curriculum in Jeffco
Jeffco Public Schools’ curriculum and academic programs provide a quality education that prepares students for a successful future.
The hope is that transparency in curriculum resources will build community understanding of the high expectations of the Colorado Academic Standards, which Jeffco students are expected to meet, as outlined in the units of study for each content area.
Jeffco curriculum will be updated as the Colorado Department of Education reviews and approves state standards.
